Community Response Program

The Community Response Program is a short-term, voluntary program designed to strengthen and support families. A Community Response Program Specialist works individually with each family to help identify immediate needs and assist in connecting to formal and informal resources. All services are offered to each family at no charge and any contact with the program is completely confidential unless approved by the family.

PRIMARY GOALS:

  • Prevent child abuse and neglect while reducing a family’s risk of entry into the child welfare system.

  • Reach at-risk families that have been screened out or closed after an initial report and assessment of alleged maltreatment to Waukesha County Child Protective Services.

  • Provide children with safe and stable environments by targeting and supporting parents to identify their individual family strengths and needs while obtaining access to the wide variety of Waukesha County’s community resources.

  • Strengthens families’ protective factors, promotes self-sufficiency, and increases family stability.
